GRADUATION CEREMONY

The first graduation ceremony of KVM Arts and Science College was held on 16th August 2017 at the college seminar hall. The programme was graced by the presence of the poet and the lyricist, Shri.Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma.


He in his inaugural address stated that education should be seen as a stepping stone to character building and societal development. He also stated that education is a pious obligation and if one was internally and externally clean, everything would be alright with the world. He emphasized the need to control and overcome one’s desires and to perpetuate dharma by sticking a balance between one’s rights and duties. He also distributed the certificates for the fresh graduates and a special cash prize to Ms.Evlin Shibu who secured 11th rank in the degree examination.

Principal Dr.K P Ramachandran Pillai presided the function. He warmly congratulated the fresh graduates and urged the students to be socially sensitive, responsible and humane citizens. . During this programme the launching of the college prayer song was also held. The song begins with Manasu Nannavate, Mathamethenkilum Aavatte (Let the mind improve, whatever be the religion). The 27-year-old anthem, that was heard so far only at NSS programmes, was declared as the college prayer song .The song was selected for its lyrics that spread the message of communal harmony. The dignitaries on the dais included Dr.Evlin Mary, Dr.PreejaPillai and Dr.Murugaprasad. Mrs.Sunu N Pillai welcomed the gathering and Ms.Athira P Karthika proposed vote of thanks.
